Motorcycle brigade visits Children's Hospital of Georgia

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

A parade of motorcycles gathered at the Children's Hospital of Georgia after riding from Harley Davidson of Augusta in support of the Kelsi Long Foundation.

Mike Maddox started the annual event back in 2003 in honor of his granddaughter who was a stillborn at eight and a half months due to complications from down syndrome.

Maddox says the event is a way of keeping Kelsi's memory alive and the support from the biking community has been overwhelming.

"The biking community in this area is probably the most giving groups of people that I know of," he says.

Maddox and the bikers spent time with some of the patients from the hospital today and also presented them a check for $6,000.
