Birmingham man arrested in connection to fatal shooting

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Authorities have charged a man inconnection to a fatal shooting in west Birmingham Sunday night.

According to Birmingham police, 23-year-oldTyree Law is suspected of shooting 23-year-old Darius Moore of Birmingham around9:44 p.m. in the 6100 block of Blocton Avenue. Law faces two counts of capitalmurder and one count of attempted murder for allegedly shooting at a witnessbefore fleeing the scene.

Officers responded on Sunday to ashots fired call and found Moore inside a black Ford Explorerer suffering froma gunshot wound. He was treated at the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue andtransported to UAB, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Investigators saythe victim and suspect were acquaintances and the incident stemmed from illegaldrug activity between both men.

Law is being held in the JeffersonCounty Jail with no bond on the capital murder charges and $60,000 bond on theattempted murder charge.
