Tuscaloosa is close to completing a downtown renewal project.
The city's $8.8 million project is scheduled to be completed by April 30. The work along 21st Avenue and 7th Street should be finished by the end of March.
The work has caused some inconvenience for businesses and travelers but city officials say the communitiy will be pleased with the progress.
Sewer improvements are part of the renewal.
"The affect it has on bringing the public to the downtown area, they are going to be very appreciative of what we invested and what we've built here with this project, I think," Daniel Price, a Tuscaloosa city wastewater engineer, said.
