Beginning with the June 3rd Party Primary Election, in order to vote, it is now law that all voters present valid photo ID.
I would like to encourage all eligible voters in Montgomery County and the River region to be prepared on Election Day by having one of the nine forms of valid photo identification.
If you do not have a valid photo ID card, you may obtain a free one from the Secretary of State's Office, your local county board of registrars' office, or at a mobile location that will be determined and advertised by the Secretary of State's Office.
In the coming weeks you will be hearing more about photo identification requirements. I, along with the, Montgomery Election Center – a division of the probate court – will be working to make sure that this new requirement is conveyed throughout our community to ensure that no eligible voter is denied their constitutional right.
For more information please feel free to contact the Montgomery Election Center at (334) 832-7744 or log onto www.montgomeryelectioncenter.org.
Remember: Exercise Your Right to Vote and Keep Montgomery County Strong!
