Remembering Mike Manhatton, 1958-2014

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend and news anchor, Mike Manhatton. Mike passed away Monday night of complications from cancer.

For more than 30 years Mike has worked both behind the scenes and in front of the camera to report some of the biggest stories here at home and overseas.

In 2011 he helped launch FOX 54's News at Ten with Cyreia Sandlin and John Wetherbee, ushering in a new era of news in the CSRA.

Over the years he has been honored with Associated Press awards ranging from Best Spot News to Best Documentary and Best Newscast.

The Georgia Department of Defense Military Division also honored Manhatton with The Georgia Commendation Medal for military affairs, in particular, coverage of the 165th Airlift Wing.

Videomaker Magazine also named him one of their top ten Videomakers of the Year in 1991.

He was a dear friend and colleague who will be missed by all who knew him and by everyone who let him into their lives each night for over three decades.

If you would like to share your memories of Mike please head to our Facebook page and tell us your best memory of him.
