1 dead, 1 injured after shooting in Kroger parking lot

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office has confirmed one person has died, and another person has been rushed to the hospital after a shooting at an Augusta Kroger store.

Sgt. Shane McDaniel said in a news release that investigators were on the scene of the store, located on the 3100 block of Deans Bridge Road,  where the shooting took place.

Deputy Coroner Kenneth Boose identified the dead victim as Montravious Deshawn McNair, 18. Boose pronounced McNair dead at 11:55 p.m. Thursday.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday at the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta.

The second injured victim, whose name was not released, was rushed to Georgia Regents Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the hand. Their condition has not been released.
