AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - One of the main focuses of the meeting was improving the safety of pedestrians on Highland Ave.
After 100 wrecks and accidents in five years, neighbors are speaking out.
Maggie Douglas' children were both hit by cars on Highland Avenue and she wants changes to be made to make sure this doesn't happen again.
"It's great. I'm glad their taking it seriously instead of just trying to patch it up," Douglas says.
There was a unanimous vote to further investigate the safety along this road and three changes will be proposed to the commission in two weeks.
