AIken still cleaning up after storm

AIKEN, SC (WFXG) -

Benjamin Newton works for Timber Tree Services. They're based out of Asheville, North Carolina, but Aiken, South Carolina has been keeping them busy since the ice storm hit.

Newton said, "We've been lined up with plenty of work. We're bidding and doing estimates everyday. It's been real hectic with broken limbs over people's houses. Anything dangerous, we want gone."

But a danger the Aiken County Sheriff's Office has been warning about is companies like theirs, in town for clean up efforts looking to make money.

Aiken Sheriff Michael Hunt said last week in a press conference that he received 25 to 30 calls from concerned citizens.

Timber Tree Services said their cleanup could take two or three more weeks and they recommend everyone do their homework.

Timber Tree Services' Sebastian Nevarro said, "Check as many estimates as possible and see if you can get the best price."
