Drug investigation leads to 3 arrests, 1 suspect on the loose

An extensive drug investigation led to 3 arrests and the recovery of drugs and weapons.

According to the Aiken County Sheriff's Office, North Augusta Department of Public Safety and ATF worked together during the month-long investigation and obtained a warrant to search a home on Pinecrest Ave. in Aiken. Deputies said that cocaine, marijuana, and 2 firearms were recovered during the search. Two children were present during the raid.

Sheriff Mike Hunt said that, "Children, drugs and guns are an awful scenario and all law enforcement in Aiken County will continue to seek these thorns in our community. We will shut them down and hold violators accountable."

According to a release, the children were released to family members.

Investigators are still searching for a fourth suspect. Deputies said that Byron Keith Miller, 31, of Aiken, being sought as a suspect in the case and has active warrants for distribution of marijuana and distribution of marijuana within one-half mile of a school. Investigators are asking the public for help locating him. If anyone has information on Miller's whereabouts, contact the Aiken County Sheriff's Office at (803) 642-1761.

According the Sheriff's Office, three people are facing drug charges along with unlawful conduct towards a child.

James Ramond Cave, 37, Aiken, is charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute cocaine third offense and possession with intent to distribute cocaine within one-half mile of a school.

Rebecca Sapp, 19, Aiken, is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana within on-half mile from a school and unlawful conduct towards a child.

Shaniqua Nicole Powell, 22, Aiken, is charged with distribution of marijuana, distribution of marijuana within one-half mile of school, unlawful conduct towards a child (X2), possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute within one-half mile of a school, possession of cocaine and operating a stash house.
