Second annual Kickin' for a Kidney

EVANS, GA (WFXG) -

The Second Annual Kickin' for a Kidney is planned for Columbia County's Riverside Park.

The event will be held Sunday, April 27 at 11 a.m.

Here's the message on the event's Facebook page:

As many of you know, last year I hosted a large kickball tournament to raise funds for my Dad's kidney transplant. The tournament was a huge success as was my Dads surgery! On January 11, 2013 my dad was given new life in the form of a new kidney. He is doing great. Words can not fully express how much of a blessing this was to him and to our entire family. Because of the love and support my family was given my Dad was able to continue being the father, husband, uncle, son, and grandfather that he has always been. Todays goal for this years fund raiser is to help offset the costs of his medication. Dad now takes a number of medications necessary to keep his kidney healthy. Even with group insurance, his annual costs for these is well over $5000. With that said, I would like to now formally announce the much bigger and better 2nd annual Kickin' for a Kidney!
