Crews respond to natural gas leak in Columbia Co.

Washington Road is open again after a natural gas leak shut down part of the road Thursday afternoon.

Columbia County Fire Rescue responded to the leak around 3:20 p.m. at Washington Road and Halali Farm Road in front of Cushman Paint and Body.

The leak was caused by a private utility vehicle, said EMA Director Pam Tucker. Deputies at the scene directed traffic, and gas line repair crews worked to repair the break.
