Supreme Court of Georgia upholds murder conviction in 2010 killing

A man convicted of the 2010 murder of another man in McDuffie County will remain behind bars.

The Supreme Court of Georgia upheld the 2012 conviction and life prison sentence of Dexter Jones for the murder of Kenny Johnson. Investigators said it was a drug deal gone wrong.

Jones was also sentenced to 10 years for armed robbery and five years for a weapons charge.

Two other suspects were also arrested. They agreed to testify against Jones in exchange for lesser sentences.
