LVIV, UKRAINE (FOX) - Memorial services were held on Friday for two men who were killed the day before during protests in Kiev.

A church service was held for 28-year-old Bohdan Solchanik.

Solchanik taught modern Ukrainian history at the Ukrainian Catholic University.

He was killed by a sniper on what turned out to be the deadliest day in Ukrainian history since the break-up of the Soviet Union.

On Thursday, government snipers fired upon protesters in the capital, killing at least 70 people.

At Lviv National University, a memorial was held for 22-year-old Igor Kostenko.

He was also killed in Kiev on Thursday.

Earlier on Friday, opposition leaders signed a deal with president Viktor Yanukovych that calls for early elections, a new constitution and a new unity government.
