Scott County authorities say a body found Friday afternoon is now part of a homicide investigation. Sheriff Mike Lee said a resident discovered the body of 31-year-old Anthony Scott Gibbs of Smith County just off Horseshoe Road, not far from the town of Sebastopol.
Lee said the cause of death remains under investigation, but several factors at the scene and evidence on the body leads investigators to believe foul play was a factor.
The sheriff said they're looking for one suspect, possibly two, because he believes the body may have been moved at some point.
The body has been sent to Jackson for an autopsy. Lee said he expects those results over the weekend.
