Richmond Co. Coroner Grover Tuten to resign at end of month

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Richmond County Coroner Grover Tuten is resigning from his position after he was indicted in January on 13 felony charges. 

Tuten's resignation will be effective Feb. 28. Starting March 1, Chief Deputy Coroner Mark Bowen will serve the rest of Tuten's term through 2016. 

FBI agents arrested Tuten in December. He was indicted in January on eight counts of theft by taking and five counts of violation of oath by a public officer.
