Do you have diabetes? Rapid screening test can tell you

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Diabetes is known as a typically a lifelong (chronic) disease in which there are high levels of sugar in the blood.

Dr. Jill Schuermann of The Christ Hospital will give a demonstration of a rapid screening test for diabetes on Wednesday's FOX19 Morning News at 8:15 a.m.

Common symptoms of diabetes from the American Diabetes Association:

  • Urinating often
  • Feeling very thirsty
  • Feeling very hungry - even though you are eating
  • Extreme fatigue
  • Blurry vision
  • Cuts/bruises that are slow to heal
  • Weight loss - even though you are eating more (type 1)
  • Tingling, pain, or numbness in the hands/feet (type 2)
