EVANS, GA (WFXG) -

Several volunteer groups are helping CSRA residents clean up after the ice storm.

The Disaster Relief Team from the Georgia Baptist Convention has chainsaw crews, cleanup crews, roof tarping crews and roof cleanup crews.

If you need assistance, you can call 404-291-4672 or stop by their base of operation at The Baptist Center at 1120 Marks Church Road in Augusta.

The volunteer chainsaw teams have been out working hard since Saturday to assist the truly needy elderly and disabled citizens with clearing their debris and moving it to the curb.  They had 130 volunteers on Saturday and 95 today.  They have cleared around 150 properties – and they still have 170 on the list.  The volunteers are going to assemble this Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints located at 835 North Belair Road in Evans at 9:00am.  If you can help them out with labor or chainsaws, please go to the church gym on Saturday morning.

These other volunteer groups are also available to help:
