Blood donations affected by winter storm

The winter weather closing local schools is also canceling blood drives.

Many schools that are closing Wednesday and Thursday were hosting blood drives to help area hospitals.

The Shepeard Community Blood Center asks anyone that is able to help to please go to one of their locations when the weather improves and donate.

The locations are:

  • Augusta Center 1533 Wrightsboro Rd., Augusta, GA 30904 Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Evans Center 4329 Washington Rd., Augusta, GA 30809 Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Aiken Center in Hitchcock Plaza 353 Fabian Dr., Aiken, SC 29803 Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
