NORTH AUGUSTA, SC (WFXG) -

A North Augusta preacher is accused of fondling a 13-year-old girl, according to the North Augusta Department of Public Safety.

Jerry Wilson Freeman, 61, is charged with one count of lewd act on a minor, according to the NADPS.

The girl told officers that Freeman took her and her brother to Chuck E. Cheese in late December, according to an incident report. Freeman let the girl's brother go inside to play and asked her to stay in the car.

The girl also told officers Freeman came back to the car, showed her a condom and started talking to her about sex, according to the report. He also told her he wanted to be her "boo."

Freeman told officers that he's the girl's preacher and that she and her brother had been staying at his house on the weekends for about the past month, according to the report.

On Dec. 31 the girl and her brother stayed at Freeman's house overnight, according to the report. She said her brother slept on the couch and she slept in a bedroom with the door locked.

The girl told officers Freeman unlocked the door, came into her room and fondled her, according to the report. She texted her uncle about the incident, and he notified law enforcement.

Officers spoke with the girl's younger brother, according to the report. He told them that his sister said she was going to make a "prank call" to 911 because she didn't want to be at Freeman's house.

Freeman told officers he did not touch the girl and did not unlock the bedroom door and go in, according to the report. He told investigators that the girl had his phone the entire time she was with him that weekend and that she often played games on it.

Investigators saw that the text messages had been deleted from the phone, according to the report. They also saw that a 911 call lasting for 20 seconds was made from the phone.

The North Augusta Department of Public Safety issued arrest warrants for Freeman Thursday, and Freeman turned himself in Friday.
