Winter storm warning: 2-4" of snow expected for parts of CSRA

The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a winter storm warning for Tuesday and Wednesday for much of the CSRA, including Augusta, Aiken, Waynesboro, and Columbia County.

The warning will be in effect from 11 a.m. Tuesday to 9 a.m. Wednesday for several CSRA counties, including Richmond, Columbia, Burke, Lincoln, Aiken, Edgefield, McCormick and Barnwell.

The CSRA can expect 2 to 4 inches of snow and 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ice accumulation, making driving conditions hazardous, according to the NWS.  

Spotty sleet and snow will start Tuesday morning, with snow accumulating between 4 p.m. Tuesday and 2 a.m. Wednesday.
