Salvation Army offering tax help

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Henry Chuang was lost in his taxes.

Chuang said, "When I read it, I just don't understand."

So he went to the Salvation Army Kroc Center to get his questions answered.

Volunteer Patrick Corcoren said, "We have an open house where people can come and ask any tax questions they want to."

But Saturday's open house was just the start. The AARP foundation will be preparing tax returns for free at the center beginning next week

Corcoren said, "We'll be starting the tax session February 1st and go until until April 15th."

But he said the questions on often confusing tax law were already rolling in.

Corcoren said , "There have been a variety of questions like itemized deductions to dependents."

Tax returns will be prepared for free at The Salvation Army Kroc Center on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
