School districts across the Tri-State know that prices are going up and funding is going down.
Hopkins County school officials say that this latest round of cuts is going to impact the people they have been trying to protect for years - the students.
Hopkins County School Superintendent Linda Zellich said the district received it's tentative seek allocation funding on January 9th. The funding is projected to decrease by $417,000.
"We're never going to be able to go back and recovered what we've lost year after year," said Zellich. "We have saved quite a bit of money this year, but it is not going to offset anywhere like the $1.3-million we're going to lose."
She said even if Gov. Beshear's new budget pushing education is approved, budget concerns might force her to cut extracurricular field trips and reconsider how far athletic teams are allowed to travel for competition.
