Big rig fire closes eastbound lane of I-10 near Buckeye

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A tractor-trailer engulfed in fire closed the far right lane of eastbound Interstate 10 just east of its intersection with State Route 85 on Friday morning.

The big rig caught fire on the eastbound on-ramp about 8:40 a.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation's website.

Firefighters had the flames extinguished by 9 a.m. The rig was destroyed.

No other information was immediately available.
