EDGEFIELD COUNTY, SC (WFXG) - Those in the CSRA are looking for moonshine are in luck. A new distillery is on the way.
It's called the Carolina Moon Distillery and it will open its doors in downtown Edgefield on Friday.
Local business partners David Long and Cal Bowie said the shop will serve as a tasting room in the front. Guests will also be able to purchase up to three 750 ml bottles per day.
The duo also said they will make more products in the future.
"We want to be known as distillers and not moonshiners, down the road, and that's the long range plan obviously," said Long. "We're going to put out other products like a rum called 'Blockade Runners' on the way, 'Black Betty,' is going to be our lightly aged whiskey, but moonshine is easy to make and you can make it quick."
