TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) –One person is in the hospital with serious injuries after a rollover accident on I-10 at Twin Peaks.

The Northwest Fire District got the call at 9:52 pm Wednesday night. They say a small car left the roadway at the Twin Peaks exit, struck a highway sign and then crossed back into the median rolling over several times before coming to a rest on its wheels.

Captain Adam Goldberg said the car had significant damage. He said the driver suffered serious injuries. The driver was taken to the trauma center at UAMC.  The status of the driver's use of a seatbelt was unknown.

Arizona DPS is investigating this incident.
