Man struck and killed by SUV after allegedly stealing food from Huddle House

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

A 19-year-old man is dead after investigators said he walked into the road and was struck and killed by an SUV.

Sgt. Monica Williams with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office said Joshua Clark stole food from Huddle House on Tobacco Road and was walking in the roadway when he was hit by the SUV traveling east.

Clark was rushed to Eisenhower Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 10:17 p.m. Monday, Williams said.

Williams described the incident as a "non-prosecutable fatality."
