AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - A tornado watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for most counties in the CSRA.
A strong line of thunderstorms is moving towards the area. The possibility of isolated tornados does exist within these storms. The primary threat will be heavy rains and gusty winds.
The National Weather Service transmitted the following message:
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED TORNADO WATCH 4 IN EFFECT
UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS
IN GEORGIA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 2 COUNTIES
IN EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
IN SOUTH CAROLINA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 12 COUNTIES
IN CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AIKEN BAMBERG BARNWELL
CALHOUN CHESTERFIELD CLARENDON
KERSHAW LEE LEXINGTON
ORANGEBURG RICHLAND SUMTER
