RSCO investigating shooting at Murphy Crossing

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Fox 54 has learned the victim in a Wednesday afternoon shooting is 26-year-old Phillip Ryans. According an incident report released by the Richmond County Sheriff's Office, Ryans was standing in the parking lot of Morris Place Apartments around 5P.M., talking to a group of people. That's when two other people came up and told everyone to "get down, lay down and give it up."

Ryans said he took off running and was shot on his right foot. His brother Dominick and cousin Kwame Bussey are both listed on the report as witnesses.  Dominick told deputies and he and other people ran up the stairs of building ‘A' to get away and kicked down the door. He says he heard 7 to 8 more shots go off.

Deputies found two 45 caliber shell casings by building ‘A'.

Both suspects are believed to be males. Witnesses said one of the men was wearing a black ski mask; the other black pants, a red hoodie and a black ski mask, but neither have been found.

Ryans was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. His condition is not known at this time.

The suspects were last seen running toward the rear of the apartments.
