CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -

A large disco ball fell on the stage at the Time Warner Cable Arena during a concert on New Year's Eve.

According to people at the concert, the ball fell on the stage in between sets at the Avett Brothers concert on Tuesday night. It happened around 9:30 p.m.

Tweets from people at the concert say no one appeared to be injured in the incident.  Several people took to the stage to examine the area.

The band continued to play its next set with the disco ball still embedded in the stage.

"Prior to the Avett Brothers set tonight in Charlotte, a piece from the show production fell onto the stage," a statement from arena officials said. "There were no injuries. Although the piece damaged part of the stage, the show went on as scheduled."

Arena officials said the ball was part of the concert's equipment and they were working with the promoters to determine what happened.
