Deputies searching for Huddle House robbery suspect

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office has confirmed a robbery has occurred in South Augusta.

Sgt. Shane McDaniel said the Huddle House in the 2500 block of Tobacco Road was robbed just before 9:10 p.m.

Deputies said an unknown man entered the restaurant brandishing a handgun. The man then demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash, deputies said.

The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported, according to authorities.

    An Augusta man has been arrested after investigators say he made threats against the Augusta Commission on Facebook. On Sept. 24, the Richmond County Sheriff's Office was notified about the alleged threat by a member of the Commission.
