SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Savannah has a new addition to the annual riverfront New Year's Eve celebration.

A 6-foot-tall, to-go cup will countdown to midnight to ring in the new year. It's all part of the "Up the Cup" Countdown. The Savannah Riverfront Association will unveil the cup at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in front of Wet Willies.

The cup will be raised to the starting platform for the midnight countdown. Those Cats will perform right after the cup is revealed and A Nickelbag of Funk who will keep the party going into the New Year.

A fireworks display will then officially ring in 2014. Festivities will kick off at 8 p.m. and continue until 1 a.m. on the Rousakis Plaza Arbor Stage. The public event is free.
