BURKE COUNTY, GA (WFXG) - The Burke County Sheriff's Office is searching for a sex offender who they say moved to a new address without registering with the sheriff's office.
Tracy Harris, 40, was living in the Girard area but recently moved to an unknown address in Richmond County without registering with the Burke County Sheriff's Office, Sgt. Dan Lowe said. The sheriff's office sex offender tracking unit detected that Harris moved.
Harris was convicted for a 1996 statuary rape that occurred in Screven County, Ga.
Deputies obtained a warrant for Harris's arrest on Dec. 9 for failure to comply with the sex offender registry, Lowe said.
Harris is 5'9" tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has short black hair, brown eyes, and was last known to have a goatee.
Anyone with information on Harris whereabouts is asked to contact the Burke County Sheriff's Office at 706-554-2133.
