Fort Gordon power outage scheduled for this weekend

Posted: Updated:

An installation-wide power outage will turn the lights out at Fort Gordon on Saturday, Dec. 28, posts officials said in a press release.

The outage will last for 7 hours, beginning at 9 a.m. and last until 4 p.m., allowing Georgia Power to make the improvements it needs to.

Officials said power at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center will remain on, to keep emergency health services available. A few other places on posts like Morale, Welfare and Recreation facility will also remain open. A complete list of those facilities can be found here: http://www.gordon.army.mil/NEWS/power_outage/.

Installation officials recommend that anyone planning a visit to the installation that day postpone their visit until after the power outage has ended.
