SOUTHWICK, MA (WSHM) -

Southwick police need your help finding the owner of two military medals.

Police say the medals, including a Purple Heart and a merit award, were found a week ago in the area near Point Grove Road.

A good Samaritan found them outside the Oak'n Keg Package Store and turned them in to police.

"We think they fell out of somebody's pocket ... we know they have some value to somebody," said Chief David Ricardi with the Southwick Police Department.

The Purple Heart is awarded to those wounded or killed while serving in the U.S. Military.

The Medal for Merit is awarded by the president.
