Local holiday food drive collects food for pets

The South Carolina Bar Animal Law Committee is holding a holiday pet food drive to save animals in the area.

They are collecting cat and dog food, cat litter, and chew toys for their first pet drive. The animal law committee is a new organization that focuses on changes in animal law. The group will be collecting pet food and toys until December 31. Margaret Tribert, member of the Animal Law Committee, said they want to help keep pets out of shelters.

"The pet food drive with a goal towards helping folks keep their pets in the home and to assist those who might be prompted to have to put their animals in a shelter but instead, we would try to provide some support," Tailbert said.

You can donate food to the Holiday Pet Drive Aiken at the Law Office of Margaret Tribert, located at 116 Waterloo St., Aiken 29801.

To find a donation center in your area, visit the Animal Law Committee's website.
