AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

A 58-year-old man who crashed his SUV into the side of a house Monday morning has died, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.

William Lambert died at the hospital from medical issues not related to the wreck, deputies said.

Lambert was driving west on Meadowbrook Drive at about 10 a.m. Monday when an unknown medical issue caused him to pass out, deputies said. His wife Bernice was in the vehicle with him.

Lambert struck two mailboxes - one at 2509 Meadowbrook Dr. and one at 2511 Meadowbrook Dr. - before crashing into the side of a house at 2518 Meadowbrook Dr.
