Deputies say that a dangerous suspect is off of the streets after robbing two Augusta businesses.
Deputies say they arrested 54-year-old Bobby Earl Haynes late Saturday night.
"It's nothing new because I've heard about a lot of places getting robbed," said shopper Amani Crawford.
Shoppers on Deans Bridge Road said they aren't surprised that two businesses were robbed last week.
"A lot of folk is going to do this just because it's the easiest thing to do," David Williams said.
The Richmond County Sheriff's Office says that in less than a week, Haynes robbed both the Auto Zone and Family Dollar on Deans Bridge Road. Haynes reportedly shot at a deputy when he robbed Auto Zone Saturday.
"It makes families feel a little bit more safer when they come out to the convenient stores because it could have been any one of us," Williams stated.
Williams said he and his little sisters frequent the Family Dollar that was robbed last week. He and other shoppers say their families are safer since the dangerous suspect was apprehended.
"He could have seriously hurt somebody," Williams said. "You never know what's on a person's mind."
Haynes is being held at the Richmond County Jail. He's charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and armed robbery by force.
