AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Lanes on several Augusta roads will be closed this week for construction and maintenance, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Single lane closures for bridge construction on Deans Bridge Road at I-520 will continue. One lane on both sides of the road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The outside lane on I-520 west between mile markers three and five also will be closed between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday. Crews will be doing drainage structure maintenance.
GDOT officials say motorists can expect delays and should seek alternate routes if possible.
Motorists should also beware of mowing on State Route 56/Mike Padgett Highway between mile markers zero and five. The mowing will take place between 8 a.m.and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Flagmen may be used for this work.
Motorists are asked to use caution, slow down and be alert to changing traffic conditions in work zones.
