HIV/AIDS World Health Day Awareness kicks off

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

World HIV/AIDS day kicked off at the Augusta-Richmond County Public Library Thursday, December 12th.

Augusta NAACP leaders held a conference, open to the public, on AIDS/HIV awareness. Anyone looking for information was welcome to attend. Officials said Georgia is one of the leading states in the nation and in the south for people infected with the disease.

Panelists educated the crowd, including Dr.Carolyn Yancy, Tammie Ross and nurse healthcare providers. Officials said if you have questions or need help, call 706-724-0390.
