Shepeard Community Blood Center has urgent need for blood donations

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

The Shepeard Community Blood Center has an urgent need for O negative blood donations.

The center has less than a one-day supply of O negative blood on its shelves, according to a press release. Officials at the center said patient need continued to increase, and the blood supply couldn't keep pace.

While the need for O negative blood is urgent, officials said all blood types are needed. They are urging CSRA residents to donate at one of three local centers.

Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds, and be 17 years old or older or 16 years old with written parental consent.

Shepeard Community Blood Center - Augusta

Shepeard Community Blood Center - Aiken
