AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) - Lanes on several Augusta roads will be closed this week for construction and maintenance, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Single lane closures for bridge construction on Deans Bridge Road will continue. One lane on both sides of the road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Motorists should also beware of lane closures on State Route 56/Mike Padgett Highway and State Route 88/Fenns Bridge Road.
One lane on State Route 56 between mile marker 0 and 5 will be closed for tractor mowing from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. One lane on State Route 88 will also be closed between mile marker 8.1 and 9 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
GDOT officials say flagmen may be used for the work. Motorists are asked to use caution, slow down and be alert to changing traffic conditions in work zones.
