Report: Armed robbers break into home on Thanksgiving

AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -

Three masked men robbed a house on Thanksgiving night, according to a Richmond County Sheriff's Office incident report.

The men kicked in the front door of a house on Side Saddle Court at about 10:30 p.m. and yelled at the victims, "Richmond County. Get on the ground," according to the report. They also shouted, "Give us your money and jewelry."

The victims told deputies they laid on their stomachs while the men ransacked the home, according to the report. One of the victims tried to get up, but one of the men hit him on the back of the head with a gun.

The men fled the house on foot, according to the report.

About $3,100 in jewelry and electronics were stolen, according to the report. The cell phone of one of the victims was recovered at the intersection of Morgan Road and Saddle Brook Road.
