    The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide in Hephzibah. The sheriff's office was called out to the 1400 block of Hehzibah McBean Rd. shortly before 2 p.m. Monday. When they arrived, deputies found two men in the midst of a physical altercation.

North Augusta Public Safety confirmed that a police chase ended in a crash at the intersection of Five Notch Road and Georgia Avenue.

North Augusta Public Safety said that they intercepted the police chase on Martintown Road when the chase suspect crossed state lines. The suspect led police into North Augusta where he ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle. Police said the suspect was apprehended shortly after he ran.  NAPS said suspect also struck an officer in the face.

The suspect was taken to Aiken Regional for injuries sustained during the wreck.

According to NAPS, no one else was injured.

He is facing eluding and assault on law enforcement charges in Aiken County, robbery charges in Richmond County, and hit-and-run charges in Columbia County.

    The hacking attempts mirror similar Russian attacks ahead of the 2016 election, which U.S. intelligence officials have said were focused on helping to elect Republican Donald Trump to the presidency by hurting his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton.
