AIKEN, SC (WFXG) -

An Aiken man is behind bars after officers say he robbed the Captain D's on Whiskey Road, according to the Aiken Department of Public Safety.

John Lyndon Upson is charged with robbery while armed with a deadly weapon, according to the department. He surrendered himself at the department's headquarters.

Officers are still looking for another unidentified man involved in the armed robbery.

An employee at the restaurant, located at 1907 Whiskey Road, was taking out the trash Wednesday when two men approached him, officers said. One of the men pointed a gun at the employee's head and asked another employee to open the safe.

The employees complied, and the men forced them to get into the restaurant's cooler, officers said. The two men then left the restaurant.

Anyone with information related to the robbery is asked to contact Crimestoppers of the Midlands at 1-888-CRIME-SC (1-888-274-6372). Callers can remain anonymous and could be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.
