Over $10,000 in property stolen from shop building in Wood Co.

Wood County Crime Stoppers is seeking information leading to the arrest of the suspects responsible for a theft that occurred November 20 off Farm to Market 1643 near Farm to Market 515 in the Pleasant Grove area.

Over $10,000 in property was stolen from large metal shop building. Items taken include a large tool box filled with tools, a large-screen TV, a desktop computer, a .22 Winchester rifle, a 4-ton hydraulic jack, a gold necklace and earring set, two chain saws, three spools of 500-foot copper wire, one box of 1000-foot phone cable, one coil of 50-foot bare copper ground-wire and a Craftsman four-gallon air compressor with hose and accessory kit.

The building is located behind a metal automated gate and fence. The suspects cut a portion of the fence, allowing them to drive onto the property. Once at the building, the suspects gained access by removing the screws from a sheet of metal sliding.

A reward of up to $1,000 is offered for tips leading to the arrest of the suspects involved in this theft. Anyone with information is asked to contact Wood County Crime Stoppers at 903-763-CASH (2274).
