The day after Thanksgiving is known as Black Friday. That's because it's traditionally a huge shopping day and the start of the Christmas buying season.
For many businesses, it can make or break their entire year. It's tough enough for local stores to compete with other local stores, but the increased use of online buying is putting even a greater strain on shop keepers. In fact, shopping on the web is expected to be an $82 billion dollar business this November and December.
Local businesses need your support this holiday season. No matter where you live in the ArkLaTex, do your best to spend your dollars in your hometown with stores and merchants who do business here and who live here.
It's important to support our local economies.
I'm James Smith.
