Caldwell County testing emergency alert system on Monday

CALDWELL COUNTY, NC (WBTV ) -

Officials with Caldwell County say they are testing the CodeRED Emergency Notification System at 4 p.m. on Monday.

All of the telephone numbers in the database will be called.

Officials say this will allow Caldwell County emergency workers a chance to use the system as if their was a community wide disaster.

If you want to add numbers to the system, go to www.caldwellcountync.org.

There is no cost to sign up.

For those who do not have Internet access, officials say to call 828-757-1424 Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
