ANTHEM, AZ (CBS5) -

The holiday season is officially underway in Anthem.

The nation's tallest fresh-cut Christmas tree powered up Saturday night.

The white fur tree is 115 feet tall, twice the size of the iconic Hollywood sign.

It's decorated with three miles of LED lights and more than 6,000 ornaments.

The tree grew in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest area in northern California. It was transported 750 miles from the forest to Arizona on a 75-foot stretch trailer.

Fully adorned with lights and ornaments, the tree weighs 16 tons.
