Children from Adullam House help spin the container that holds all the raffle tickets.
WETUMPKA, AL (WSFA) -
One lucky person is the new owner of a Jeep after their raffle ticket was pulled Friday afternoon in at the Adullam House thrift store in Wetumpka.
"The excitement was almost palpable," said Angela Fpackman, Director of Adullam House.
The ministry, which cares for children of incarcerated parents, decided to offer raffle tickets to win the vehicle. More than 1,500 tickets were sold.
Fpackman says all the money from the raffle will go into support for the
ministry to provide schooling, housing, clothing and all other
necessities for the children.
Adullam House officials and a crowd of children cranked a wire tumbler around 12:30 p.m. and selected a name at random. The winner was Montgomery resident David Williams who purchased his tickets earlier in the day
The Jeep was donated to the Adullam House ministry by Gray's Tire and Auto Center, which Fpackman says has helped the organization "many, many times behind the scenes."
