mother of a Fremont man can continue with her lawsuit against Sandusky County

sued Sandusky County Sheriff Kyle Overmeyer and two deputies following the
shooting death of her son Bryan.
the night of Bryan's death, Jones and her husband had called the sheriff's
office to report that Bryan had been drinking and had a gun. According to the
lawsuit, when deputies arrived, they saw Bryan sleeping on the couch with his
shotgun, "with no prospect of him being able to injure anybody else, including
the police officers, as long as they don't barge into his home," Murray said.
excessive force lawsuit claims the deputies used a flash-bang grenade, but
Murray says they had other options.
alternatives like a bullhorn, like bright lights, the techniques that we're all

lawsuit also claims that within seconds, deputies had shot Bryan so many times
that one of his arms was severed.
deputies say Bryan pointed the shotgun at them and they were defending
Jones is suing for $20 million. There is no timeline as to how long it will
take to get a trial going.
